Happy weekend, GFFs!

Before we dive in, if your email is overflowing, you have digital photos you’ve never reviewed or your text messages remain unread, I’m hosting two Digital Detox hours next week to tackle some of this virtual cleanup - Wednesday, May 13 from 6 to 7pm Pacific, and Sunday, May 17 from 2 to 3pm Pacific. I’ll take you through a guided detox that we’ll do together, with the goal of having a lighter, more organized inbox at the end. We can’t Get Free in chaos, and that includes online. The sessions are FREE, but you have to sign up in advance and, because we don’t gatekeep, tell a friend.

The Get Free

With it being Mother’s Day on Sunday, dropping in with some love for those celebrating, for those missing their mothers and mother figures, and for anyone navigating complicated feelings around mothering or motherhood. These large scale celebratory “days” can be a lot for happy and challenging reasons, so take care of yourself as you need to, and mark the day (or not) in the way that honors where you are today. It’s OK to do you.

To that end, resharing a simple Get Free from August of last year: Cut Yourself Some Slack and you might also like this one - It’s OK to Ask For Help

It’s OK to send calls straight to voicemail

It’s OK to just work the hours you’re paid for

It’s OK to turn off the news notifications on your phone

It’s OK to tune out the world for a little bit

It’s OK to say no, just as it’s OK to say yes enthusiastically

It’s OK to let people down; if they love you, they’ll understand

It’s OK to set boundaries and stick to them

It’s OK to forgive yourself

It’s OK to live your life

See, it’s OK.

🚀Get Your Life: Things to read, listen to, enjoy🚀

📚What I’m reading: Started re-reading a few pages from Elaine Welteroth’s 2019 book, More Than Enough. It touches on race and identity, career, success and activism. Still relevant!

🎧What’s on the pod: Business coach, author, podcast host Nicole Walters has lived (and is living!) a life. This Substack Live conversation about Yasmine Cheyenne’s new book The Comeback Era is worth a listen/watch.

🎵 Soundtrack for the week: I have been listening to this ALL WEEK: In The Stone by Earth, Wind and Fire. The orchestral arrangement at the top of this song is incredible. Play it LOUD!

If you’ve got a recommendation drop me a line.
